Salon Registration   

 

Dear Exhibitor,

The 139th Annual Salon of Culinary Art will be held in conjunction with the 92nd International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, Sunday, November 11 and Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, 11th Avenue at 34th Street, New York, N.Y.

We invite you and your colleagues to participate in our culinary arts exhibition/competition. Take advantage of this international gathering of Members of the Hospitality Field to display your artistic and creative skills.

Important notice for A.C.F. Members: A.C.F. Members who are  First Prize Winners at the Salon of Culinary Art, will earn credit towards certification from the A.C.F.

 

Cash Awards will be awarded in addition to medals, trophies, etc. to exhibitors in the following categories.

Please note: All cash awards and the French Government Medal are awarded to First Prize Winners only.

  • $1,500 for the best pastry exhibit table and $1,500 for the best cooking exhibit table in the Grand Prize of the  Salon Competition (Medal of the French Government category).
  • $ 1,000 for the best piece of the Salon
  • $ 500 for the best cooking centerpiece of the Salon.
  • $ 500 for the best pastry centerpieceof the Salon
  • $ 500 for the best meat platterof the Salon
  • $ 500 for the best  fish platter of the Salon
  • $ 500 for the best wedding or occasion cakeof the Salon
  • $ 500 for the best chocolate or sugar work piece of the Salon
  • $ 500 for the best Bakery display

Consult your tax advisor regarding treatment of above award.

 

To enter this event, please send the following, before October 1, 2007,  to SOCIETE CULINAIRE PHILANTHROPIQUE, 305 East 47th Street - Room 11B, New York, N.Y. 10017:

  •  Completed entry form
  •  Registration fee
  • Completed Exhibitor Badge Request
  •  Table Plan and layout with sizes

Please note: Incomplete applications will be returned by the Committee.

 

Registration fees are as follows:

  • $30.00 for each entry
  • $50.00 for applicant of the Medal of the French Government Competition
  • $150.00 for applicant of the Marc Sarrazin Trophy Competition
  • $50.00 for Public High Schools (Space limited to 50 square feet and 10 participants per school)

You will receive a pass to the Jacob Javits Convention Center, tables, exhibit space,  and an invitation to the award ceremony. 

 

Judging and Awards

Each exhibit will be judged by a panel of judges. Each exhibitor will receive a certificate.  Prizes, trophies and medals will be awarded on the basis of merit.

 

Tables

Please include on a separate sheet, your table plan and layout. In order to accommodate all exhibitors work we will guarantee a minimum of one 2 x 4 table for each platter or show piece exhibited by an individual. Team and group tables will also be determined by number of exhibits presented. If you require additional table space please reserve in advance and we will be happy to accommodate you.

 

Exhibitor Badges

Exhibitors of the Salon of Culinary Artwill receive an  Exhibitor’s Badge free of charge. To apply for Exhibitor Badges you must complete the attached Exhibitor Badge Order Form and return it together with your application to Societe Culinaire Philanthropique. Badges must be picked up at the Exhibitor Registration Desk of Javits Center during Show Hours if requests are received after October 1st.

Friends, Family and Visitors to the Salon ( minimum age 18 years):

General Public Admission. The Salon will be open to the public on Sunday & Monday, November 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission fee for the Salon only is $10.00 and will be available for purchase at the door.

Show badges to the trade only (admission to the Salon is included) may be purchased by contacting International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show at www.ihmrs.com or by calling 914-421-3200. Prices for show admission are $25 in advance and $50 or at the door. For your convenience we are enclosing an attendee Registration Form to be completed and mailed directly to International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, 10 Bank Street, White Plains, N.Y. 10606.

The deadline for applications to exhibit in the 139th Annual Salon of Culinary Art is October 1, 2007. Entry forms and detailed information are available online.
